LEGO: 4x4 Zetros VS Custom LEGO Trial Trucks video!

Next month LEGO will release the new Technic set 4×4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros (42129). The model is super detailed and ensures an immersive building experience. For the first time in LEGO Technic, this truck features a differential lock: lock and unlock the differentials with the CONTROL + app to maneuver the truck on rough terrain.

To show us the features of this new radio-controlled truck, our friend Sariel decided to make a video showing the Mercedes-Benz Zetros 4×4 in action with custom trial trucks. Who will win?

lego A suspension design that allows to have a remotely locked differential without adding extra width.

If you are into LEGO RC models you will be happy to discover that he legendary Technic designer Sariel has just addressed the well-known problem of open LEGO differentials, which are prone to slip situations (when one wheel has less traction than the other, it becomes the only driven wheel on the axle which can stop the whole vehicle) and which can be locked but this results in very wide suspension units which are unusable for most models.

As you can see in the video below, moving the differential up, however, it’s possible to keep the suspension’s width unchanged at the cost of added height.

LEGO Ideas: Grand Piano makes music - set 21323

Today LEGO revealed the Grand Piano (set 21323): a highly-sophisticated and playable concert piano featuring authentic details and Powered Up App.

With a 3662 blocks, the Grand Piano is the biggest LEGO Ideas set created by number of elements. It can be played in either a “user play” toy piano mode (where hitting any key produces the next note in a selected song) or in an “auto-play” mode (where the piano moves randomized keys while the app produces music like a player piano).

The Grand Piano, which measures over 22,5cm high, 30,5cm wide and 35,5cm deep when closed, is another example of LEGO moving into the hobby sets for adults.

I could be wrong but I feel this is what companies like TAMIYA should do to get back in the hearths and wallets of adult hobby fans. At the end LEGO huge success among kids and adults is the demonstration that people are ready to put down their smartphones and build a kit with their hands.

In a couple of weeks LEGO will release the Technic Concrete Mixer Truck (set 42112). With 8 robust wheels, a moving motor, opening driver’s cab and large mixing drum, it looks just like the real thing.  With 1163 pieces, users will enjoy a challenging build before exploring all the features of the concrete mixer truck, including 100 1×1 LEGO system bricks to use as the concrete.

LEGO: life-size Ducati Panigale V4 R video!

ITALY – Today LEGO and Ducati have surprised us again, presenting the only model in the world of Borgo Panigale’s Red motorcycle 1/1, built with LEGO Technic bricks by the artist Riccardo Zangelmi. Riccardo, who is the only Italian artist recognized as a “LEGO Certified Professional”, build this life-sized replica completely by hand with 15000 bricks!

The Ducati Panigale V4 R and its “twin” built with LEGO Technic elements were placed side by side on 19th June at the Circuit in Modena.
