Traxxas suprised us revealing out of the blue the 1/10 scale Factory Five Hot Rods build on the 4-Tec 3.0 chassis. These RC Hot Rods come in two versions (the ’33 Hot Rod Coupe, and the ’35 Hot Rod Truck) and honor the early days of hot rodding when big power, bright chrome, and curved steel ruled the streets. Like their full-size Factory Five counterparts, these hot rods combine modern chassis design with eye-catching gorgeous bodies.
Traxxas 4-Tec 3.0 chassis wheelbase is extended to 300mm and outfitted with ultra low-profile suspension. This allows for highly accurate, deep-cut body lines and exacting proportions throughout both models. The rigid modular platform delivers ultimate steering precision and nearly infinite tuning potential.
Factory-installed LED lighting adds another layer of scale detail to the sculpted Hot Rod bodies. Brilliant white LEDs illuminate the headlight housings to lead the way with red tail light lenses for the competition as you blow past them. Naturally everything’s waterproof to keep the fun going, regardless of weather conditions.
Insightful design touches and precision engineering, combined with a low-CG, mid-motor configuration and fully adjustable suspension, make the Traxxas Factory Five Hot Rods as exciting and capable as the real thing.
The 4-Tec platform’s new 3.0 spec is larger than the previous 4-Tec with an extended wheelbase, larger wheels and tires, and a wider track that enhances stability and handling. Proven GTR Shocks deliver road-tuned handling with full adjustability.
Larger 4-Tec 3.0 tires and matte-black Salt Flat-style wheels with mirror chrome trim rings provide increased stability and improved handling. The replica brake discs incorporate standard 12 mm wheel hexes and feature red brake calipers.
Both Hot Rod bodies preserve their flowing hoodline without body posts using a front latch built into the shock tower. When it’s time to change the battery, just remove the two rear clips and the entire body slides off in seconds.
