After the announcement of April, Tamiya is start distributing a new Blue Edition version of the Subaru Brat. The model is a re-release of the 1983 kit with updated mechanics and electronics. The kit contains two bodies, one made of ABS plastic for display and one in transparent polycarbonate to drive.
The chassis features 4-wheel independent suspension system with front double wishbones and rear trailing arms. The rear suspension in particular has been updated with the diaphragm type oil dampers and coil springs.
A 540 Type motor drives the differential-equipped gearbox, and the drive shaft features a dog bone joint for optimum transmission efficiency. Block pattern tires mounted on the realistic 8-spoke wheels rounds out this stylish package.
The pack includes 3 different pinion gears (49T, 50T and 52T), a brushed 540 motor and the TBLE-02S electronic speed control, capable of running sensor brushless motors and brushed motors alike. (21.5 Turn BL motor limit) (23 Turn brushed motor limit). Complete the Subaru Brat requires: 2-Channel Radio, servo, 7.2-7.4volt battery pack and Tamiya PS paint for the polycarbonate body.
