TLR 22 5.0 1/10th Competitions 2WD Buggy Series

Team Losi Racing has published the official images of the new TLR 22 5.0 AC, DC and SR versions. The three versions are designed for different types of tracks: AC (Carpet), DC (Dirt) and SR (Stock Class). All three models are based on the same chassis made of 2mm  aluminum with different optional parts to adapt it to the chosen category.

The TLR 22 5.0 AC is 100% carpet race ready. It includes an all-new gear diff, front and rear sway bars, narrow front wheels, raised diff inserts and raised axle rear hubs, as well as pistons, springs and molded composites consistent with what racers expect from a race ready carpet off-road buggy.

The TLR 22 5.0 SR is specifically optimized for dirt and clay tracks in the spec racing classes. The innovative 22 SR differentials with the aluminium diff assembly and composite outdrive provides for easy maintenance and a lighter diff system. For the 5.0 SR, they have replaced the composite outdrive rings with longer CNC machined aluminium rings to improve the outdrive durability for today’s ultra-high grip clay tracks.

The biggest improvement with the TLR 22 5.0 comes from the steering geometry. Increasing the length of the steering bell cranks and spindle arms, along with changes to the Ackermann angle give the 22 5.0 a significantly smoother steering feel, especially off-center and high speed, while increasing low-speed steering for tighter tracks and 180’s.

Maintaining the excellent balance, grip, and stability of the 22 4.0 body with a similar styling, the 22 5.0 Lightweight (LW) body is pulled from 0.7mm PC plate to keep the center of gravity (CG) low, and the static weight even lower. As with all TLR bodies, the body will be precut in the kit.
