The popularity of RC Monster Truck and Mega Truck continues to grow so JConcepts decided to organize a brand new event. The Monster and Mega Tour will hold its inaugural event at The Track (Maryland/USA), during the weekend of December 7-8, 2019 . This location, owned by Mimi Wong, is no stranger to hosting large events, most recently hosting the 2017 1/10th ROAR Electric Nationals along with a slew of high-level regional events.
The American company likes to kick-off any scale event with a Show and Shine competition. This is the opportunity for drivers to show off their rides and earn prizes for their hard-work before the action even starts. Traditionally, entrants place their vehicles in the parade of trucks and are judged in several categories. A friendly way to start the competition, an easy way to eye up the competition or scope out the latest custom builds.
The Monster and Mega Tour will feature events centered around the naming formula while competing in all sorts of qualifying trials, side-by-side racing and the wildly popular freestyle. The Track provides enough space for two indoor tracks, one on brushed concrete and the other on dirt. The concrete surface, has a slight texture and provides the placement for the Fred Reep designed track to be used by the Sport Mod, and Pro Mod trucks for racing and all-out freestyle competition. The hard packed dirt track will be the setting for Classic, Retro and the Mega truck races built in the image of a full-size track of yesteryear.
Schedule:
Friday 12/6/19 – setup, track build, early bird qualifying
Saturday 12/7/19 – Show and Shine, qualifying, bracket racing eliminations
Sunday 12/8/19 – Eliminations continued (if necessary) freestyle
