REPORTAGE: Torino Cup, Italy is 4WD!

Modeling, sport and good company, these are the main ingredients of the Torino Cup, organized by
Mini 4WD Sport and held in the evocative location of Parco Dora on 29 and 30 June 2019.

Many readers will remember the mini 4WD, small 1:32 scale model cars produced by Tamiya and the
animated series that in the 90s saw young modelers clashing in compelling races, piloting their
models using a hockey stick.

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES
In Italy, a group of enthusiasts has made dynamic modeling a true sport-modeling discipline,
organizing events in which the participants confront each other individually or in teams on the most
varied paths.

THE WORLD IS YOUR TRACK
Despite the small size, these small models are able to tackle the most different backgrounds, from
asphalt to off-road, with jumps that rivals the sisters on a larger scale.
Gear ratios more or less fast, spike or sponge tires, mass dampers and some cars even equipped
with light semi-independent suspensions, thanks to the modeling skills and a little inventiveness,
every single model is made unique by the own pilot-designer.

THE TORINO CUP
University students, computer scientists, doctors, designers, for a weekend turn into pilots, put their
skills at the service of the team with the sole goal of having fun together, without forgetting that it is
still a race, a little of healthy competitive spirit adds that pinch of pepper that never hurts!

Two days of competitions that saw teams coming from central and northern Italy confront each
other in exciting relay races, with continuous alternations at the top of the score chart, until the
victory, by no means obvious, of the home team, Torino.

THE NEXT GOALS
After a physiological off-season in the month of August, the competitions will restart with an event
in Abruzzo in September.

The next Cup will probably be a rally and will take place in Rome.

Mini 4WD Sport is very active on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) where it informs the numerous followers about the scheduling of events and shares tutorials on the preparation of these little jewels in 1:32 scale.
