A the Tokyo Hobby Show 2018 Tamiya have affocially announced the new 1/10 Scale R/C Car Comical Grasshopper (build on the WR-02CB Chassis): the mini parody of the legendary vintage buggy originally released in the 80s.
The kit version will be available from November 2018 (it will be possible to choose between the classic white body and the yellow one) while the Xpert Build (RTR) will be released later.
The chassis is a variant of the WR-02 that features a centrally-mounted motor. The Comical Grasshopper uses a sealed gearbox that contains the differential. The battery pack is located longitudinally in the rear of the car, the resulting weight distribution meaning that the vehicle performs breath-taking wheelies under sudden acceleration; a wheelie bar fitted to the back of the chassis ensures that the model does not flip over.
