ITALY / CIRCUS RC – The 2019 Winter Cup was held at the IBR Padova near Venice. SWORKz duo of Elliott Boots (SWORKz/REDS Racing/Pro-Line) and Juan Carlos Canas (SWORKz/REDS Racing/6MIK) set the pace in the rounds of qualifying and took the overall TQ in Nitro Buggy and E-buggy respectively.
The 45-minute Nitro Buggy final saw a great struggle between Marco Baruffolo (XRAY/FX Engines/Hot Race Tyres) and Riccardo Berton (Kyosho/O.S.Engines/Pro-Line Racing) for the lead. Meanwhile, Mattia Polito (Kyosho/Novarossi/Energy/AKA) and Leonardo Valente (SWORKz/REDS Racing/Energy/TPro) have been fighting for 3rd place but gradually Valente was able to wide the gap and secure the last place on the podium. Despite a slightly higher speed at the end of the final, Berton couldn’t be able to overtake Baruffolo in a finale that looked more like a 45-minute qualifying round!
In The E-buggy class, Juan Carlos Canas was in control of things, taking the win in the first two finals to take the overall win. Elliott Boots came in second while Reno Savoya (TLR/RC Concept/Thor/Jconcepts) rounded out the top 3.
